In #357, “The Multi-Verse of 7702 Rates” (April 2023), we walked through the complicated steps required to sort out projected 7702 rates over the next couple of years. In the last few months, we have seen rate movements that have pushed the relevant formulas right to the tipping point. In a matter of three short months, we went from a safe zone to a danger zone, and right back to a safe zone. And with the path that interest rates have taken, it looks like we’ll be flirting with 7702 rate changes yet again.
