Finding a good book about life insurance is pretty difficult. Most of them are either actuarial textbooks or sales peptalks. However, one of the gems available on Amazon is “The Story of Life Insurance,” a series of articles written by Pulitzer Prize winner Burton J. Hendrick and published in 1907. Although the events are historical, the lessons are immanently relevant, educational and provocative.
The story starts with the clearest description of permanent life insurance mechanics that I’ve ever read, hands down.
