With Lifetime Builder Elite, Global Atlantic (Accordia) has found a way to refresh its nearly-prehistoric Lifetime Builder product and stake out a spot in the illustration wars with a 1% guaranteed bonus starting in year 6 and maximum illustrated rate of over 7.5%, courtesy of its current 13% cap. Elite funds these benefits through higher short-term policy charges than its predecessor product, which has a lower cap and bonus, but the illustrated tradeoff is still a good one. But will Elite hold its edge over the long run? Probably not.
